The Fresno Art Museum announces its upcoming exhibition fundraiser, Small Treasures: Artist Miniatures at the Fresno Art Museum opening November 21, 2008 and running through December 18, 2008.

Join supporters, patrons and friends of the Fresno Art Museum as we celebrate the holiday season with an exhibit of small artistic treasures in the Moradian Gallery. The exhibit will benefit the Fresno Art Museum and will showcase small works of art made by local artists. Supporters and guests will have the opportunity to own these treasures by participating in a ticketed lottery.

   

 

OPENING RECEPTION

An opening reception and celebration of the "best things in life that come in small packages" will be on November 21, 2008 from 5:00 - 7:00pm. The artwork will be on display at the Museum until December 18, 2008. 

A ticket box will be located under each work where participants may deposit their purchased tickets for an opportunity to win the "small treasure." Patrons may deposit as many tickets as they like for each artwork.  The more tickets deposited, the better the chance to be the lucky winner.

Tickets will be sold to the public for $5.00 each or 5 for $20. The drawing of lucky winners who purchased tickets to participate in the fundraising opportunity will be on December 19, 2008.  Participants need not be present to win. The artwork will be available for pick up by the winners on December 23, 2008.

 

A THANK YOU TO THE ARTISTS

The Fresno Art Museum would like to thank the artists who contributed their time and talent to the Museum by creating and donating a special miniature work of art for this upcoming exhibition and fundraiser. The artwork will be displayed in the Moradian Gallery amongst a festive array of spirited holiday decorations.

 

The following were the guidelines for submitted works of art:

The deadline was 5:00pm on November 14, 2008.

All subject matter and media will be accepted. Artwork must be framed, completely ready for hanging and the finished work must measure 7 X 9 inches or smaller.  Artwork in three dimensions must measure 7 X 7 X 9 inches or smaller. Only original works will be accepted for digital art; any reproductions or scans of pre-existing art will not be accepted.

Each artist can donate up to 3 pieces. Artwork must be wrapped for protection when delivering. Must be 18 yrs. or older to participate.
