Council of 100

The Council of 100 is an auxiliary organization of the Fresno Art Museum.

For 30 plus years, the Fresno Art Museum's Council of 100, remains a unique organization devoted to recognizing outstanding women in the arts. The Council, working in collaboration with the Museum, has garnered recognition for its valuable contribution of honoring contemporary women artists through its annual Distinguished Woman Artist award.

Council of 100 Today

The main function of the Council of 100 is to choose, with the Fresno Art Museum, a Distinguished Woman Artist for the year and to underwrite the exhibition and exhibition catalog. With the opening of each new exhibition, a luncheon to honor the designee is held at the Museum, usually in September of each year. Invitations to additional art events throughout the year are a benefit of your membership, including talks and tours of artist members' studios.

Members of the Council are given the opportunity to meet and interact with women in the arts on local and national levels all year around. For more information or to join, please contact the Fresno Art Museum at 559.441.4221 or click on the links below.

Annual membership in the Council of 100 starts at $50. Membership in the Council is only open to members of the Fresno Art Museum. (Click here to join the Museum.)
